Composition task 2 - Adding instruments and harmony.

Listen to this piece. It’s a Welsh lullaby called Suo-Gân. It was used by Steven Spielberg in his film Empire of the Sun:

1. Add chords to this melody. There are plenty of previous steps in this project to help you.
2. Then, transfer it to a group of instruments. Notice that there are many repeats of the first four bars (in bar 5 and 13). Therefore, here is an opportunity for you to play about with the instrumentation, and including a variation each time. But keep thing simple – after all, it’s a lullaby.
