The sections between the main theme are called an EPISODE(S). Fill the table, explaining how you would create a contrast between the main theme and the episodes in your composition. You will find the main theme in the composition task. There are various ways to create a contrast – concentrate on developing a theme in another key for the time being (with some variation maybe) to create episodes.

Here are some musical elements you can use to create contrast in the episodes when you are composing your own Rondo after considering the composition task.

How many ways does Beethoven manage to create variations in the episodes? In which keys are they? Look at the first chord in the episode each time to establish the new key.
